SUMMARY: Disneyland performers have unionized, joining the Actors Equity Association. This will give workers that play characters at resorts and participate in parades a voice and security in negotiating wages, fighting for representation, and safe work condition as well as resolving other conflicts. Actors Equity is a 51.000 member organization representing actors and stage managers. Brtiney Griner was recently transferred from jail  to a Russian penal colony after losing an appeal for her release in October.  Depite their best efforts US negotiators have not been able to convince the Russians to let her go.  The Phoenix Mercury star, 32,  is serving a 9-year sentence on drug smuggling charges and have been detained since Febuary.
