Next round of competition to return on May 27 (NASHVILLE, Tennessee) -- Nashville Rising Star crowned emerging songwriter Robby Hopkins as the Grand Prize winner of their popular open-mic contest on Wednesday, April 29 at Wild Wing Cafe in Cool Springs. Robby, along with over 200 Nashville (and beyond) songwriters competed in seven weekly preliminary competitions where the audience and music industry professionals selected their favorite song. 14 semi-finalists went head to head and were pared down to the final four songwriters. They were Lexi Lew , Chris Garner , Karen Waldrup and Robby Hopkins .
