buzzz worthy. . . Miss District of Columbia, Desauna Barber was crowned Miss USA a week ago today. Barber  is the first member of the U.S. military to take the title. An Army officer commanding a team at the Department of Commerce and a resident of our nation's capitol, Barber, 26 is much more than a pretty face.  As an IT Analyst, brains accompany her beauty. Barber also became the ninth African American to win Miss USA and will go on to compete in the Miss Universe Pageant.Immediately following the win she was flown to New York City to begin her reign. Barber's family history and profession say "proud American."  The daughter of an Army Master Sergeant (now retired), she relocated multiple times growing up to states including North Carolina, Nebraska, Minnesota, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
