Keyshia Cole Disses Destiny Child's Michelle Williams for SperBowl Performance

buzzz worthy. . .

By Mona Austin

Destiny's Child  "shut it down" during the Mercedes Benz half time at the Super Bowl on Sunday. I could not stay on my couch from the moment Michelle Williams and Kelly Roland literally popped on to the stage from out of nowhere to join Beyonce for a crowd-pleasing medley of Destiny's Child hits. All thre ladies along with  Beyonce's no man  band offered up a jamming minutes of sheer girl power and world class entertainement.  they received priaise for the But singer/reality TV star Keyshia Cole-Gibson begs to differ -- at least with one-third of the group.

Via Twitter Cole-Gibson wrote of Beyonce's headlining presentation: "F-ck that shit up then Beyonce! Bad bitch central."  Wrote Cole-Gibson about the girl group's reunion: "I think I was frightened to blink for a sec. Then Michelle sung and woke my ass up from my daze! She always f-cking the groove up."

Williams, who currently stars in "Fela" and has a forthoming gospel album,  was proud of her performance as was Bey.  She told Billboard she's bot letting the criticism get her down. "I don't care what anybody else says. I don't let it get me down. It was a beautiful thing."

Letoya Luckett, who was replaced by Willaims in 2000 had apparently buried the hatchet and

Let's rewind to a moment six years ago when Keyshia Cole (pre-marriage) had a performanace that wasn't such "beautiful thing". . .

In 2007, I wrote the following words about Keyshia Cole's poor rendition of a classic hymn during an Easter Sunday church service:

"Unable to find the correct key, her vocals were shaky, out of tune and far from the quality of "Love," her first mega hit that showcases her as an able vocalist. At one point she stopped to clear her throat and apologized to the audience. The musicians chased after her to find
the right key and couldn't as she barely finished one verse in a shapeless a capella."
(From the article "Keyshia Cole Freezes During Church Performance" from EURWEB.COM)

The story went viral when someone leaked audio of the performance and people everywhere were talking about the R&B vocalist's failed attempt at  singing "His Eye Is On the Sparrow." Because she paused a few times during her performance and seemed to mentally search for the words to a church standard, I thought she performed poorly because she  was put on the spot and had stage fright.  Others dissed her online, saying she was not a good singer.  Nonetheless, at that time, Keyshia Cole was super hot and even though her voice is not cut from that gospel fabric, she appealed to millions of fans (inclusing me) and had the record sales to prove it.  However, in a "sweaty-palm" moment she could not prove she was good live performer.

But that didnt stop Cole form baad mouthing COle and being a mean girl.

Some wise person has probably said, "Let she who has been laughed at laugh last or not at all." This is advise one would think Mrs. Cole-Gibson would be the first to heed.
