Trip Lee returns this October

buzzz worthy. . .

Via Press Release

(Atlanta, GA) August 21, 2014--Reach Recording artist Trip Lee is excited to announce the release of his long awaited fifth full-length album Rise on October 28. Executive produced by long friend and Grammy award winning producer Gawvi (Lecrae, Andy Mineo), Rise is a call-to-action for fans to experience and live life to the fullest, while still honoring their faith and beliefs. The album will also feature label mates Lecrae and Andy Mineo as well as soul singer Leah Smith.  "Rise has a lot of different meanings," he explains. "It's a call-to-action to rise from the dead and actually live. We're born spiritually dead, and I'm calling for everyone to become spiritually alive. Secondly, don't wait until later to live the way you were created. God created you to honor Him, find joy, and serve others. Don't sleep on that. Lastly, rise above the low expectations people have.”
The first single off the album “Shweet,”  (CLICK HERE TO LISTEN) was released online to streaming services earlier this week and has fans talking.  With its simmering production, the track nods to that classic down south bounce with New York-style storytelling.
"I wanted it to be light and playful to a degree," he admits. "I talked about my life and growing up in Dallas. Then, it switches up. So many rappers talk about themselves and how amazing they are. What if when I brag, I'm not talking about me, but I use everything in my life to point to God and honor him? That was the idea. I point to how great He is."
Over the past decade, Trip has released four full-length albums via Reach, culminating with 2012's The Good Life, which debuted at #17 on the Billboard Top 200. It spawned a book of the same name and garnered two 2013 Dove Award nominations—Rap/Hip Hop Song of the Year and Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year.
Additionally Trip is preparing to join Jeremy Camp, Disciple, Newsong and many others, on select dates of the Winter Jam Tour. He will kick off the show in New Mexico on November 6 through November 26, 2014 closing in Portland, OR. For a full list of tour dates, visit http://www.jamtour.com/artist/trip-lee.
