Joe Morrisey admits to fathering a child with teen, ex-receptionist

The riveting storyline on the television show "Scandal" has nothing on an alleged real life sex scandal involving and eccentric politician in Virginia and a lover young enough to be his grand daughter.

Virginia lawmaker Del. Joe Morrisey (D-Henrico County), 57 admitted he fathered a child with Myrna Pride his former receptionist, 19 and now says they want to get married. He confirmed speculation on the Jack Gravely Radio Show and in a press conference on Wednesday. Morrisey said 9-month-old Chase is his son an they are happy. The ex-democrat served in the Virginia House of Delegates since 2008 and is now seeking a seat in the state Senate, running as an Independent.

Morissey was sentenced to six months in jail in December for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a misdemeanor conviction, to which he pleaded no contest. The charges were related to an alleged sexual relationship with Pride when she was 17. Pride said they did not have sexual relations until she was 18. Morrisey continued to campaign while on daytime work release from jail, to reclaim the House of Delegates seat from which he'd resigned during the sex scandal.
