buzzz worthy. . .

Robert Griffin III has gone “back to the basics”says Redskins Head Coach Jay Graven.

The Washington Redskins are getting ready for some footbaaaallllllll!

Redskins training camp has started in Richmond, VA and Robert Griffin, III (RG3) is shaping up as the starting QB this season.  The Skins started training last week and despite rumors that the former Baylor U star was getting the axe for a sluggish performance over the past couple of seasons due to injuries, he'll be leading the way.  After three seasons, the pressure for Griffin to prove he is worth his $16.2 million paycheck is high.

"We'll go into the season with Robert as our No. 1 guy," Coach Jay Gruden said at this year's Combine in February. "It's up to Robert to continue to grow and mature as a quarterback and as a person. Moving forward we want to see improvement. It's up to us as a staff to get more out of him."

Coach Gaven has been testing Griffin's readiness over the last five days and told reporters Wednesday, so far his leading man's progress is on par with his expectations.

"He's been doing fine.  We're going back to the basics.  It's all about repetition now," sad Graven.

The Redskins opened training camp at the Bon Secours training compound in on July 30. They have been interacting with the media and community groups outside of practicing. They have canceled a walkthrough session previously scheduled for 4:10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7 an will face an opposing team tomorrow.  The team’s open joint practice session with the Houston Texans at 8:35 a.m. on Friday remains planned as scheduled.
