Rick Perry bows out of the race for president, Texas activist happy

buzzz worthy. . .

There won't be another debate for Republican, Rick Perry. The former Texas governor has exited the race for president.  On September 11 at a  St. Louis, MO event Perry announced, "Today, I am suspending my campaign for the presidency of the United States. . .Life is good. I am a blessed man."

The suspension of his campaign came across  like a typical stump speech, where instead of plugging himself he rallied conservative constituents to keep the faith in the party at large.

Continuing, Perry said he steps aside "knowing our party is in good hands, as long as they listen to the grass roots.  Listen to that cause of conservatism.  If we do that  our party will be in good hands."

The news comes after the former Democrat discovered he did not make the prime time candidate roster for the second Republican debate.  Perry did not stand out in the first debate.

Perry was expected to be a major player in the race, but failed to  drum up the backing of the conservative base in donations in the first 100 days on the campaign.  He was unable to support a staff and had only raised around $1 million to date. CNN reports Super PAC supporters were willing to invest in Perry later on and were surprised he quit so soon.

In a FOX exclusive on September 15 he told Sean Hannity  he quit for two reasons: legal woes and lack of campaign funds.  ". . .the indictment needed to go away," Perry stated about the 2014 charge levied against him for misuse of a authority when he was governor.   Rosemary Lehmberg
"When those two thing didn't happen it had a very negive effect on our fund raising in the summer."

He also said, "We got to get away from this hot rhetoric and start talking solutions."

The beleaguered politician returns to Texas jobless and awaiting a trial.

One Texas man, Civil Rights activist Qauenell X would rather see Perry in jail than drumming up votes for the presidency. "He didn't have a snow ball's chance in hell of winning."

Texas attorney Melba Blair sais she is sad to see Perry go and praised him for getting the state back on track with jobs when heas governor.

The pair had a heated  exchange on Houston affiliate FOX 26. The video has gone viral.
