FAITH BASED VOTERS MUST STOMACH THESE HARD TRUTHS BEFORE VOTING

buzzz worthy. . .

Evangelical Conservatives' attitude toward Hillary Clinton suggests that Trump's sins are worthy of forgiveness, but Clinton's are not. Sin is sin. Neither candidate is perfect, nor are many Evangelical leaders who have had public moral failures. There is an abundance of evidence that reflects The Church has been lax in its duty to uphold moral standards worth following. In fact there is no such thing as a perfect candidate, perfect leader or perfect church, so where does that leave voters? It leaves them in a position of reliance on a power that is greater than any man -- the power of God.

Vote With Authority, the non-partisan faith based voting advocacy initiative, admonishes voters to pray before casting their vote with the understanding that no matter who wins the election, hope in the future starts and remains in an all powerful, all knowing God who never sleeps nor slumbers. Being a nation with a godly heritage is but one of the things that makes America great! In his Letter from the Birmingham jail, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King warned: "But the judgment of God is upon the church as never before. If today's church does not recapture the sacrificial spirit of the early church, it will lose its authenticity, forfeit the loyalty of millions, and be dismissed as an irrelevant social club with no meaning for the twentieth century. Every day I meet young people whose disappointment with the church has turned into outright disgust."

As it was all those years ago, King's sentiment lives on today. The Church must look within itself -- not to politicians -- to set the example for healing and forgiveness the country so desperately needs. Whatever direction the church goes in, so goes the nation. Regardless of voters' desicions on election day (or if you vote early) it is important to remember the civic engagement and righteous living of the faithful beyond an election year is the real key to the change one wants to see. Vote your conscience on Nov. 8. Let your voice be heard on the ballot box.

The mission of Vote With Authority is to register, educate, and mobilize the faith based electorate. Ministries, civic organizations, media and individuals are targeted for information sharing, delivering news on key political issues and encouraging collective community involvement in getting out the vote through "Souls to the Polls" transportation and social media efforts.
