Steve Dalton & The Leviticus Singers Of Charlotte Releases Festive Christmas Song “Jesus Christ Is Born”

buzzz worthy. . .

(Charlotte, NC) – December 20, 2016 – Christmastime would be incomplete without tunes reflective of the holidays. Gospel ensemble Steve Dalton & The Leviticus Singers of Charlotte are adding a new song to the soundtrack of the season with the track, “Jesus Christ Is Born”. The gifted ensemble, who has opened for artists such as Marvin Sapp, John P. Kee and Jonathan Nelson, recently released the seasonal single. The up-tempo song celebrates the birth of the Savior featuring familiar scriptures that detail the miraculous appearance of the Messiah. The song is currently available on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play and can also be heard on the group’s website.

The song’s uplifting theme conveys the heart of the leader of the ensemble, Steve Dalton. “The song means WORSHIP to me,” says Dalton. “Scripture says that the angels cried ‘glory to God in the highest’. It also says that when the Magi found him they bowed and worshiped. This song is our adoration and reverence unto the King. The song is our WORSHIP.” Produced and penned by Dalton, the song is the first holiday offering form the group. Currently, they are putting the finishing touches on their upcoming sophomore CD, As One: Release The SOUND. The 20-track project, which will include one CD of worship and one CD of praise, will release in 2017.

They’ve released two songs from the upcoming project, “I Win” and “I Win: The Remix” featuring Gospel artists LeJuene Thompson & Uncle Reese. Both songs have hit radio (and the iTunes charts) and have endeared fans to their ministry. Steve Dalton & The Leviticus Singers of Charlotte have also caught the ear of the industry and the result has netted numerous award nominations (including Rhythm of Gospel Award, Prayze Factor People’s Choice Award and Queen City Music Award nominations) which resulted in the group winning a 2015 Gospel Image Award for Best Video of the Year (for “I Win”) and a 2016 Gospel Image Award for Group of the Year.

The ensemble launched in 2002 with their debut dropping in 2006 entitled, Address Change: God’s Great Relocation Music Project. Since that time, they’ve been seen all over the country, opening up for Gospel artists such as Lexi, DeWayne Woods and Micah Stampley. The group has made numerous appearances including TCT-TV in Wilson, NC and TCT-TV in Greensboro, NC.  They’ve also been seen on WATC-TV’s Friends & Neighbors, Babbie’s House and Atlanta Live and on Club 36.

Steve Dalton & The Leviticus Singers of Charlotte made a recent appearance on Dove Broadcasting’s WGGS-TV in Greenville, SC on December 13, 2016, where they performed the new Christmas tune, “Jesus Christ Is Born”. The group is excited to remind people of the reason for the season with their new cut. Dalton hopes the song takes people back to the manger and the heart of the Christmas story. He says, “Christmas is important to me because everything has a beginning. For Christians, our new beginning here on earth was through the birth of King Jesus. The name ‘Jesus’ means ‘Savior’ or ‘Save Us'! It's often debated the exact date that Christ was born. However, when people hear our song I want them to focus on the fact that HE was born rather than when HE was born.”
