Acclaimed multi-platinum pop singer and songwriter Andy Grammer released his long-awaited fourth studio album, Naive (S-Curve/BMG) on July 26. The video for one of the new tracks “My Own Hero” also came out today.

Making his fourth appearance on the TODAY Summer Concert Series, Grammer performed one of the positively addicting new tracks, "Fresh Eyes." While the song isn't upbeat it is still uplifting. "If I could bottle this up I would!," he sings referring to a loving relationship. (LOVE those lyrics!) Whether he is talking about love or life, Grammar has a knack for pouring on good news without sounding preachy and fans love it.
"Sometimes it is a war to stay optimistic," he told Today's Craig Melvin, but said his fans think the way he does and that, of course, is because his energy is contagious.
Not one to be stingy with the good vibes, he brought his brand of positivity directly to the people playing in the NYC Subway station the night before, an act that was reminiscent of his days playing on the Santa Monica Pier early in his career.
During an interview on the third hour of Today, sitting on the couch in The Artist's Lounge, Andy told hosts, "If cynicism comes at you don't let it turn down your shine."
Later back on the outdoor stage the words fro the lead single rang out:
"If it's stupid to see the good in everything I guess I'll plead guilty to being naïve," he sang as he played a folksy rhythms on his guitar.

Andy continues to dominate Adult Pop Radio with “Don’t Give Up On Me,” as the single hits Top 15 and has now spent seven weeks on the Shazam U.S. Top 100 chart.
At the same time, whti his new record, Grammer is peeling back the layers of his personality to change narrow misperceptions about his philosophy.
“I have been labeled the positive guy for my entire career. The truth is that I am. But the positive guy is way more three dimensional than the world gives him credit for. Unfortunately, the word positive comes with the after taste of – simple, sweet, and NAIVE. To me, optimism is a full on war that’s fought everyday. It’s hard to stay positive when so much around us is negative. The word positive to me feels way more rebellious, persistent, heroic. This album digs into the story behind the smile.
