Republicans are trying to oust Liz Cheney (R-WY) from leadership and it reeks of sexism. Cheney, the leading woman in the Republican Caucus has the loudest female voice. Her fellow leaders have echoed the discontent of former Pres. Donald Trump who she wants barred from running from office again. Her criticism of Trump goes beyond qaurrels over elections security. They are not open to handing the bull horn to any woman unless she can trumpet the views of the male leaders in the party. Women are expected to follow the male lead and remain quiet.

Cheney is partially being ostracized for denouncing the unfounded election claims of former Pres. Donald Trump. Trump is acting as a shadow leader of the party and even in his absence from Twitter but he has expressed his disdain for the outgoing caucus leader. The message the GOP is sending, with the complicit support of other women in the party, is that women can only go so far in leadership without crossing a line drawn by the men of the party
