How Anne Graham Lotz got to know the Holy Spirit after a life without a conscious connection to it

Evangelist Anne Graham Lotz, the oldest daughter of the late Billy Graham, said she does not recall learning about the Holy Spirit in her upbringing. This surprising confession led her to illuminate the necessity of having a loving relationship with the Holy Spirit instead of confining this manifestation of God to the pages of the Bible. In the Christian faith, the Holy Spirit is an equal part of the Holy Trinity which is taught as the core of the faith. Many Believers may not experience a conscious inner connection to the Holy Spirit just as The North Carolina based evangelist had not despite being a prominent Christian leader and teacher of the Gospel.

Lotz explained as a guest on "The Difference with Matthew and Kendal Hagee" show promoting her book "Jesus In Me" that knowing the function of the Holy Spirit has made a significant difference in her life. This lack of understanding opens up questions about the extent of some evangelical teaching around essential Christian doctrine. Without this knowledge, some theologians would argue that the Believer has not experienced God to the full extent of divine power.

She stated that she wrote the book after a series of loses. Her husband of 49 years passed away. A year later her father passed away and within 6 moth of losing him she was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was during this time that she came to know the Holy Spirit as her companion.

Her new found knowledge teaches evangelicals who have followed hers and the teachings of her father that the God of The Bible is an inward presence.

Lotz shared that she began to experience the invisible presence of Christ in her adulthood as "a person." Her openness in addressing the lack of this core component of the Christian faith is telling. You may find her teachings on this subject online and as she makes various appearances to discuss it.

Lotz highlights in her teaching that the Holy Spirit works within us.
