THE CARR CENTER AND COMCAST BRING BLACK ARTISTS TO MICHIGAN CABLE CUSTOMERS ON XFINITY CN 900 AND ON DEMAND


 


The Carr Center’s digital content will expand to include TV and on demand options for more than 1 million Michigan households

 

 

DETROIT - (September 13, 2022) – The Carr Center and Comcast have partnered to bring groundbreaking Black musical performances to more than 1 million Michigan Xfinity video customers directly on their cable television and Internet-connected devices.

 

Comcast will air The Carr Center Presents which includes 10 concerts. The concerts can be viewed on Xfinity’s Comcast Network 900 (CN 900), the Xfinity Stream app, or via Xfinity On Demand. Just say “Carr Center Presents” into the Xfinity X1 voice remote to access the On Demand content.


Program titles include:


1.      A Poet’s Poet: The Legacy of Naomi Long Madgett

2.     The Gathering Orchestra Nonet in Concert

3.     Duos & Duets: with Terri Lyne Carrington and Danilo Pérez

4.     Duos & Duets with Ben Williams & Marcus Williams plus their guest Jean Baylor

5.     Duos & Duets with Ms. Lisa Fischer and Louis Cato

6.     Duos & Duets with Patrice Rushen & Billy Childs

7.     Duos & Duets with Thornetta Davis and friends

8.    Duos & Duets with Jack DeJohnette & Terri Lyne Carrington plus their guest Matthew Garrison

9.     Duo & Duets with Terri Lyne Carrington, Danilo Pérez & their guest Sonia Sanchez

The Carr Center has become one of the leading organizations to present African American arts, in all disciplines, in the country. The center is named for the late Virgil Carr, an arts advocate and community leader, who was the former President and CEO of The United Way of Detroit. The Carr Center is devoted to the preservation, presentation, promotion, and development of the African and African American cultural arts traditions within Detroit’s multicultural community.
