REP. AL GREEN REMOVED FROM STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS FOR PROTEST, HOUSE REPUBLICANS SEEK CENSURE

(TSN): A House Republican has issued a censure resolution after Texas Congressman AL GREEN (D-TX, 9th District) interrupted the president during his State of the Union Address. Defiantly standing, raising his cane and his voice GREEN yelled that there is no mandate to cancel Medicaid in response to Trump stating his policies were mandated by U.S. voters. Speaker Mike Johnson called for the Sergeant of Arms to remove him from the chamber when his shouting persisted.

After being booted out of the chamber the Texas lawmaker told reporter she does not care about repercussion -- he cares about the many poor people who only have Medicaid for healthcare. He said that Trump's interest is "wealthcare."

Washington Republican Rep. Dan Newhouse drafted a resolution to censure Green the next day for violating the rules of decorum.

Other Democrats took a stand against Trump's policies by remaining silent in their seats -- never once standing or applauding during the hour and 39-minute long speech.

Mr. Green has long opposed Trump's leadership. He was first to file articles of impeachment in 2017 and filed them again in February when Trump announced he wanted to take over the Gaza Strip.

He said he is "willing to suffer whatever punishment is available to me. . .This is about the people who are being punished by virtue of losing their health care. This is the richest country in the world, and we have people who don't have good health care. We've got to do better and now we're about to cut Medicaid, which is for poor."
