Dr. Biden Recalls Her Favorite Childhood Toys at Last White House Toys for Tots Event (VIEW PHOTOS)
First Lady Dr. Jill Biden held a White House toy drive as her grand finale event for military families in conjunction with Toys for Tots on Friday.
The FLOTUS was accompanied by children with their eyes all aglow entering the glistening East Room where they assisted her with sorting donated gifts that will be distributed to needy families throughout the country.
"Did you feel like it was magical?" she asked the kids about the White House decor they had seen before and expressed disbelief when some of the kids said they hadn't seen the gingerbread house.
There is indeed much to see at the White House during Christmas time as well as taste.
"Hot chocolate!" One child yelled, triggering laughter in the room.
While thanking the children's parents a little boy seated with the group of kids on the floor in front of the podium clapped excitedly whike other watched.
"Yes clap for yourself," she laughed, assuring parents that as a teacher she sees that non-shyness enthusiasm as a good trait.
"Are you ready to get sorting," she then asked as the kids were released to the toy piles. They also me Gunny the Bear, a Toys for Tots mascot who posed for pictured with them.
Wearing a sparkly champagne and cream colored jacket, over a white-collared shirt and beige pleated skirt Mrs. Biden's neckline was drenched in sparkly gold and mother of pearl, which looked like a signature Van Cleef and Arpels design in the valued in the ball park of $20,000.
Asked what her favorite gift was as a child Dr. Biden said, "Probably Barbie." She then circled back and said it was actually her bicycle that she got when she was 9 years old.
