By Mona Austin White House Chief Usher, Angella Reid has been fired. She was let go as a normal part of restaffing during a transition to a new administration an official said. The timing of the dismissal is questionable since it did not occur early in the transition. “She is no longer employed here at the White House but we left on very good terms and wish for the best,” said Press Sec. Sarah Huckabee Sanders at a press briefing on Friday. It is common for White House residential staffers to stay employed over several presidential terms. There have only been 9 chief ushers over the past century. Reid, who is Jamaican, served five years. The first woman to hold the position and second black, Reid was responsible for managing the White House staff, worked closely with the first family and oveeseeing daily operations.
