DOJ Targets Don Lemon for Anti-ICE Coverage in Minnesotta

 

The DOJ has put Independent Journalist Don Lemon on notice.  Harmeet Dhillon, the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the  may invoke the Ku Klux Klan Act, a Reconstruction‑era statute originally designed to address violent intimidation by white supremacist groups. The DOJ’s consideration of charges follows an incident in which a group of anti‑ICE demonstrators disrupted a Minneapolis church service on Sunday.  


The Ku Klux Klan Act — formally the Enforcement Act of 1871 — prohibits conspiracies aimed at threatening or coercing individuals in ways that interfere with their constitutional rights, including the free exercise of religion.


Lemon was seemingly doing notgung more than hus job when covering the incident.
