2013 Tony Awards Winners List, Cicely's moment

Neil Patrick Harris hosted a fabulous, fun, evening of firsts at the Tony's Sunday night.  He received a standing ovation following a high energy opening performance that involved singing, dancing, and rapping.

The legendary Cicely Tyson, 79, won her first Tony for Best Leading Actress followed by a standing ovation. Tyson said she had not been on Broadway in thirty years and wanted to give the theater one more shot.  In a thoughtful and classy acceptance speech she said,  "I'm the sole surviving member of my immediate family. I've asked over and over again why," she said. "I now know why."
Courtyney B. Vance accepted the first award of the evening for he said his wife, Actress Angela Bassett was responsible for his decision to take the part.
Actress Cicely Tyson won her first Emmy on June 9, 2013. She wore a stunning royal blue  gown made of satin horizontal ruffles designed by . Michael.

Winans, Sr. has wed his long time girlfriend Deneen R. Carter. Carter is a 57-year-old physical therapist and minister at Perfecting Church in Detroit, founded by Winans.
