Trump Responds to Skepticism Over “Final” Iran Peace Deal

President Donald Trump on Tuesday pushed back against growing skepticism surrounding what he has described as a “final” peace agreement with Iran, warning Tehran of severe consequences if it fails to uphold the terms.

Trump has not yet released the full details of the deal, leaving its firmness uncertain. Still, he insisted Iran has committed to halting its nuclear ambitions.

“They will not develop, purchase or buy a nuclear weapon,” Trump said, adding that he would not publicly outline the repercussions for any violation. “I won’t even tell you the consequences,” he warned, “but if they do, all hell will break loose.”

In the face of skepticism, the president continues to offer assurance that the deal is secure from his perspective.

We have our deal done with Iran and it should be successful. It goes to a second stage which I think will be actually easier. I didn't want to attack them last week but we had no choice, and we did it twice actually, we were doing it a third time and we were able to not have to do that.’

One part of the  deal reportedly is that funds will be unfrozen

‘We are not investing any money in Iran by the way. That rumor that got out there yesterday, it was ridiculous. We have the right to go in someday and do something… or if somebody wants to do something. But we have no obligation to invest money in Iran.’

The president also dismissed rumors that the United States is investing money in Iran as part of the agreement,

As with all political developments while the president is attending the G7 there can be new developments. We are staying on top of the details in The Slice News. Visit us on Facebook for regular updates.
