President Donald Trump on Tuesday pushed back against growing skepticism surrounding what he has described as a “final” peace agreement with Iran, warning Tehran of severe consequences if it fails to uphold the terms.
Trump has not yet released the full details of the deal, leaving its firmness uncertain. Still, he insisted Iran has committed to halting its nuclear ambitions.
“They will not develop, purchase or buy a nuclear weapon,” Trump said, adding that he would not publicly outline the repercussions for any violation. “I won’t even tell you the consequences,” he warned, “but if they do, all hell will break loose.”
In the face of skepticism, the president continues to offer assurance that the deal is secure from his perspective.
‘We are not investing any money in Iran by the way. That rumor that got out there yesterday, it was ridiculous. We have the right to go in someday and do something… or if somebody wants to do something. But we have no obligation to invest money in Iran.’
The president also dismissed rumors that the United States is investing money in Iran as part of the agreement,
