https://twitter.com/mattmauronews/status/1149861849879310337 SUMMARY -The lack of unity on how to enforce immigration policies between Democrats and Republicans may have stirred a migrant rebellion according to a report coming out of Denver. . . VIA TWITTER: "Protestors on @ICEgov property just pulled down the American flag and replaced it with the Mexican flag. The group by the doors is growing. Though most protestors are still on the street." -This action shows some Mexican immigrants have other agendas than escaping oppression in their homeland and becoming American citizens.  -Rejecting America and its flag is nothing new in places like California where  La Raza, a radical groups of Hispanics and Chicanos  have fought for open borders based on the belief that the United States of America stole territory from Mexico. Trump administration loses another key cabinet member, as Labor Secretary Acosta resigns

By Mona Austin Labor Sec.  Alex Acosta has resigned after push back over his connection to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal 12 years ago. Acosta had been  scrutinized  for his handling of the sweetheart plea deals related to  Epstein's sexual assault charges recently. Speaking to the press on the South lawn before Trump departed to  Milwaukee Friday morning, both men said Acosta walked away voluntarily. "I think he did a very good job yesterday," referring to a press conference Acosta had to address the accusation that he was too lenient on the sentencing of the sex offender. Critics say the nearly hour-long press conference fell short because Acosta justified his "hard decisions" as an attorney in Florida at the time instead of apologizing in any way. The president praised Acosta: "He has been a fantastic Sec. of Labor," speaking in front of the press with Acosta standing next to him on the South Lawn. Acosta said he told Trump th...

American Airlines flight attendant body shames Black doctor on flight from Jamaica adding to #existingwhileblack trend

By Mona Austin Visualize this scenario: Same pair of shorts/skirts.  Black girl gets written up for violating the school dress code.  White girl doesn't. Double standard. Not fair, but it is a reality Black middle and high school girls face in classrooms every year.  In the school system, it is a form of "justified" body-shaming couched in  language about appropriate clothing in the code of conduct. This example may not be thought of as a problem because it is a part of enforcing a school rule, but for Black Americans encounters with inequality start early and are frequently systematic.  Something similar happened to Latisha "Tisha"Rowe/MD/MBA, a Black woman on an American Airlines flight. Rowe got a dose of this discrimination when she was not allowed to board a flight coming from Jamaica back to Florida -- unless she covered up the strapless romper she was wearing, a common form of leisurely attire women wear in summer months.  Rowe pointed...

Pres. Trump signs executive order on kidney health initiative offering significant advancements

The federal government has set up an initiative intended to bring relief to the more than 37 million Americans who suffer from kidney disease and the family members who help take care of them.   For African Americans, kidney disease affects a larger percentage than any other group. Early  detection could save a life as can having access to the right resources, which the Trump Administration intends to deliver through the Advancing American Kidney Health effort. Today, President Donald J. Trump signed an executive order on Advancing American Kidney Health,  the biggest presidential action specific to kidney disease since 1973 when President Nixon signed into law the Medicare End-Stage Renal Disease benefits.  The ninth leading cause of death in the United States, kidney disease does not discriminate -- affecting, young old, rich and poor. Case in point: R&B/Pop music legend Stevie Wonder has halted his tour to prepare for a kidney transplant this fall....

Happy Fourth of July from Pres. Donald and First Lady Melania Trump and excerpts form "Salute to America" speech

Presidential Message on the 243rd Anniversary of the Adoption of the  Declaration of Independence Two hundred forty-three years ago today, our Founding Fathers, gathered in Philadelphia, adopted the Declaration of Independence and cast off the shackles of tyranny.  They boldly proclaimed the inherent truth that each individual has unalienable rights that come from our Creator, and that among them are the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  As we celebrate these rights upon which our Nation was built, we also recognize the courageous men and women of our Armed Forces who have valiantly defended them. Four days after the Declaration of Independence was signed, the Liberty Bell echoed through the streets and alleyways of Philadelphia, calling citizens of the city to the first public reading of the celebrated document.  Today, freedom continues to ring pr...

Press Secretary Grisham slams ruling to stop detaining immigrants

A federal judge's ruling to stop the detention of asylum-seekers until they have been processed in to the U.S. is only going to make security matters worse at the U.S./Mexico border  according to a press statement from Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham.  Grisham swiftly criticized U.S. Judge Marsha Pechman for protections that would prevent would-be citizen from being jailed and  said it was unconstitutional to detain them, saying, "The court's injunction is at war with the rule of law." White House Press Sec. Stephanie Grisham Statement from the Press Secretary   Yesterday, a single, unelected district judge in Seattle issued an injunction that prevents the government from ensuring the detention of those aliens who cross the border unlawfully until the completion of their immigration court proceedings.  The decision ignores an express statutory prohibition on granting class-wide injunctive relief against enforcement of the immigration laws and...
