Photos: Chrisette Michele joins fellow naturalistas at natural hair convention

buzzz worthy. . . (Atlanta) -  On Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27,  Beautiful Textures  dominated the  World Natural Hair Show in Atlanta, according to a press release . Held at the  Georgia International Convention Center (2000 Convention Center Concourse) , the two-day experience was a hit with attendees and featured superstar recording artist,  Chrisette Michele . Hair demonstrations using Beautiful Textures  featured celebrity hair stylist,  Felicia Leatherwood , and master hair stylist,  Pam Hogan , who educated attendees on  the new  Texture Manageability System (TMS)  and  Dream Kids  products.     Sporting a crown of braids (and tats) Michele greeted fans and performed her host single "Couple of Forevers." TUNE IN ALERT: R&B DIVAS Atlanta premieres tonight with two new cast mates

buzzz worthy. . . TV One's R&B Divas Atlanta returns for its third season on Wednesday, April 23 at 10 PM/ET. Former Destiny's Child member LaTavia Roberson and former 702 lead singer Kameelah Williams join original cast members Syleena Johnson, Keke Wyatt, Angie Stone and Monifah Carter as the ladies seek higher recognition in the music industry. The 10 episode, one-hour series will conclude with two reunion specials to recap the season.

Today,on NBC This Morning  it was revealed that the woman who continues to be Hollywood's latest obsession, Lupita Nyong'o is People magazine's "Most Beautiful Woman In the World." Topping the list of 50,  the Kenyan born actress, 31 genuinely gushed,  “It was exciting and just a major, major compliment.  And especially, I was happy for all the girls who would see me on [it] and feel a little more seen.” Lupita has posed for more covers and been in more magazines than some professional models over the last year. Landing this coveted cover on a major mainstream mag is extra significant as it shows  what we've known along, that Black is beautiful.  Lupita is the first African face chosen as the publication's "Most Beautiful" and this is the 25th Anniversary issue to boot.

Earth Day 2014: In Our Multicultural Society, Asians Are Most "Green"

NEW YORK  -- In celebration of the 44 th  annual  Earth Day , DDB Worldwide today announced findings from the 2014 DDB Life Style Study ®  (LSS), which indicates that across both attitudinal and behavioral measures, race is one of the best predictors of "green" living. The LSS survey compares U.S. adults from among four racial groups – those who identify as White, Black, Hispanic, or Asian – and reveals that by a significant measure, Asians show the highest levels of agreement with stated beliefs and intentions about doing the right thing for the environment.  According to the DDB Life Style Study data, over 75% of U.S. Asian adults agree that recycling is important and that they make a strong effort to recycle everything they possibly can.
