TANYA BAKER TO RECORD LIVE CD MAY 11

“THE LIVE ENCOUNTER" WILL BE RECORDED ON TUESDAY, MAY 3, 2011 AND PRODUCED BY GRAMMY WINNER MYRON BUTLER

Chicago, IL: Kingdom Records, the recording firm that brought the world the RIAA gold-certified Shekinah Glory Ministry, has set the release date for contemporary jazz gospel artist Tonya Baker’s highly anticipated sophomore CD, “The Live Encounter.” The follow-up to Baker’s 2008 Kingdom Records debut, “Special Friend,” the new set is the Dayton, OH native’s first live album. It was staged at The Ginghamsburg Church outside of Dayton, OH in July 2010. Grammy winner Myron Butler, who’s collaborated with gospel stars such as Smokie Norful and Kirk Franklin, produced the project.

The first radio single is the sing-a-long ballad, “Miracles.” The lush tune is a sophisticated declaration of the Almighty’s omnipotence. Backed by a seamlessly tight, backing-group of singers, the engaging song climaxes with Baker’s engaging, and heartfelt adlibs over a joyous call-and-response with the ensemble. The song was composed by well-known drummer Romel Gibson who has also written hits such as American Idol champion Ruben Studdard’s “Holding On To You, Lord,” L. Spenser Smith’s “Surgery,” and The Anointed Pace Sisters' tune entitled, “Praise and Worship.”

“I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous,” Baker confesses. “I've been asked for several years, `When are you going to do a live recording?’ Well, this was the right time and I hope that God will be pleased with our offering and the listeners will be blessed and encouraged. There's nothing like the live experience. You feel the energy from the people and the presence of God. Most importantly, I didn't want the people to just come looking for a great show. I wanted them to come for an encounter with God.” Visit www.kingdomrecordsinc.com or www.tonyabaker.com for more information.
