She sums up the issue of racial/cultural appropriation with one question in a video titled "Don't Cash Crop My Corn Rows" that has gone viral. She asks, "What if America loved Black people as much as it loves Black culture?" Key to her argument, she explains the upkeep of black hair is a necessity for Blacks not a commodity while she eloquently calls out entertainers from Madonna and Katy Perry to Macklemore and Ryan for banking on "blackness."
