TV ONE'S UNSUNG HONORS THE LEGENDARY BOBBY "BLUE" BLAND, WEDNESDAY, DEC. 7 AT 8 P.M. ET






The ongest-running and award-winning Unsung documentary series honors Bobby "Blue" Bland with a feature episode premiering Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. ET. Considered the "Elvis" and "Luther Vandross" of the blues in black music, Bland's career spanned 60 years with 63 charting powerful singles such as Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City, Turn on Your Love Light, and Further Up the Road. But even with a sound ahead of his time, he needed the help of his wife to order his steps, and keep him from an early grave. Overcoming his demons and learning deficiencies, his legacy was cemented by his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Through first-hand accounts, interviews with family and friends, and archival footage, each episode of TV One's signature series weaves a tale of the highs and lows of a life in the limelight. The poignant stories of Unsung offer insight into the trials and triumphs faced in both private and public forums.

Alabama Pastor Shot and Killed in Domestic Incident

Pastor Da’Quarius Green , a 31-year-old leader of Elba Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Alabama, was shot on Dec. 23, 2025 and died several days later in the hospital after a domestic dispute at his home in Level Plains . Authorities have described the shooting as a “domestic incident” involving his wife,  𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐲. Local news station WTVY reported "c ourt records show that Green was arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence charges 3 times in Houston County last year, with each of those cases dismissed. Also in 2024, a woman filed a protection order against Green in Houston County in which she believed him to be a danger," but did not confirm Mrs. Massey as the suspect.    Various reports indicate the couple's children were present when he was shot in the head.   In one instance, a woman who shared children with Green alleged that he repeatedly struck her , including once when she was pregnant.
