Trump Floats Renaming AI and Artificial News As He Meets With AI Giants

 


President Trump said today he will begin calling what he views as misleading coverage “artificial news,” a twist on his long‑used phrase “fake news.” He also repeated his push to rename artificial intelligence “super intelligence,” arguing the technology is not truly artificial. Trump has been urging media outlets to adopt the term for more than a week, though he has not explained what prompted the shift. At the United Nations General Assembly last week, he said “super intelligence” better reflects the power of the technology.

The president has previously renamed federal assets such as bodies of water, but changing terminology used by the tech industry is outside his authority. Still, he is attempting to use his influence to drive the change.

Trump made the comments ahead of a high‑profile White House meeting with leaders of the nation’s largest AI and tech companies. According to multiple outlets, attendees include:

  • Mark Zuckerberg, Meta CEO

  • Sundar Pichai, Google CEO

  • Dario Amodei, Anthropic CEO

  • Greg Brockman, OpenAI President

  • Jensen Huang, Nvidia CEO

  • Alex Karp, Palantir CEO

House Speaker Mike Johnson is also attending, saying the discussion will focus on balancing innovation with safety.

The meeting comes as AI leaders issue warnings about rapidly advancing systems, while Trump continues to dismiss fears about AI as a “hoax” and opposes slowing development.

Alabama Pastor Shot and Killed in Domestic Incident

Pastor Da’Quarius Green , a 31-year-old leader of Elba Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Alabama, was shot on Dec. 23, 2025 and died several days later in the hospital after a domestic dispute at his home in Level Plains . Authorities have described the shooting as a “domestic incident” involving his wife,  𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐲. Local news station WTVY reported "c ourt records show that Green was arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence charges 3 times in Houston County last year, with each of those cases dismissed.
