Boys Scouts have relaxed their membership requirements for gays

buzzz worthy. . . The Boys Scout of America will begin accepting homosexual members effective January 1, 2014.   Earlier this year, 60 percent of the scout national council agreed that the BSA’s policy needed to be updated.  Currently the BSA prohibits, “ open or avowed homosεxuals or who engage in behavior that would become a distraction to the mission of the BSA .”

Britney Spears opens as a Vegas act

buzzz worthy. . Britney Spears is now an official Vegas act.  Spears performed the first of many shows in fornt of an audience of  about 4500 people over the weekend.   She is contracted to perform 50 shows eor yearshow that consists mainly  of songs from the height of her career in the nineties ( “Toxic,” “Baby One More Time,” “Oops!…I Did It Again,” “Stronger,” and “Circus” ).

buzzz worthy. . . Dewayne Wade fathered a child while on a temporary break from his now fiancee, Gabrielle Union. The cute celebrity couple shared a holiday photo shoot with Wades two sons from a previous marriage. Union was married once before to football player Chris Howard, but has no children.  TMZ alleges the couple was together during the tine they claimed to be separated.  View the TMZ report here .

buzzz worthy. . . Former Redskins head coach, Mike Shanahan.  Credit: Sports Illustrated One of the biggest sports stories of the year just hit before the close of 2013. On Monday morning the Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder fired head Coach Mike Shanahan. The Burgundy and Gold's loss to the N Y Giants Sunday night was the final nail in the coffin of an unproductive year. The season went from bad to worst with the late season benching of star player Robert Griffin, III resulting in a 3-13 record, the second worst in the National Football League. RGIII continued to have problems with a knee injury he sustained in the previous season. Snyder says," Redskins fans deserve a better result." Prior to his 4 seasons in the DC area, Shanahan led the Denver Broncos to two Superbowl victories.  He had one more season left in a five year contract estimated to be worth $ 7 million per season according to the Washington Post. Dr. Bobby Jones and Singletons to headline jazz fest in Italy

One of the most prestigious jazz festivals in the world, the  Umbria Jazz Festival  has been held annually in the twin cities of Orvieto and Perugia since 1973 and is  celebrating it's 40 th  anniversary this year. Billboard magazine has announced its best of list for the year 2013.  Based on record sales as determined by Nielsen BDS and chart status Justin Timberlake had the best album of the year.  The magazine named  Singer Bruno  M ars  Billboard's 2013 Artist of the Year. buzzz worthy. . . Earlier today, the Vice President and Dr. Jill Biden visited  Walter Reed National Military Medical Center  in Bethesda, Maryland. The Bidens visited with patients and their families to thank them for their service to and sacrifice for our country.

Justin Bieber announces retirement

buzzz worthy. . . By Mona Austin Justin Bieber 's fans don't know what to "Belieb."   The 19-year-old crooner announced his retirement today via  a tweet. "My beloved beliebers I'm officially retiring," he wrote. Shortly thereafter he said he would be with his fans "forever."    That does not tell us if he is dropping the mic for good and will remain with his followers "in spirit", or  if the first tweet was just a publicity tease or true. What we do know is that it's been a rough year for the singer. The "Beleive,"  documentary that chronicles his world tour by the same name just came out.  Many of the moments that gave him a wanna be "bad boy" image are highlighted in the film.   This year Bieber had a few brushes with the law at home and abroad.  In London he fainted on stage and had a run in with a paparazzo.  Plus, his break up with Selen aGomez was public. First Lady Michelle Obama speaks to America's Children on Christmas Eve

Even thought First Lady Michelle Obama is on a Winter Break in Hawaii with the First Family Mrs. Obama kept the tradition of answering calls from children from across the country seeking Santa's whereabouts.   Mrs. Obama  spoke to children for nearly half an hour as part of the annual NORAD Tracks Santa program run by the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). This is the First Lady's fourth year participating in this Christmas Eve tradition. POTUS is enjoying family and friends on busy vacation in Hawaii

By Mona Austin President Obama has escaped to Hawaii for his annual holiday vacay, but he is staying active on the isle of Oahu and keeping an eye on Obamacare progress.     On Sunday the family attended a college basketball game on the campus of the University of Hawaii. The  University of Akron Zips played the Oregon State Beavers , coached by first lady   Michelle Obama ’s brother,   Craig Robinson . The game was held on the campus of the University of Hawaii.
