Trump Launches Personal Attack on Reuters Reporter During South Carolina Appearance

President Donald Trump sharply criticized a Reuters reporter Thursday after being asked whether his decision to participate in a tele-rally rather than campaign in person in Kansas was related to the demanding travel schedule he has maintained in recent weeks. The exchange occurred as Trump departed an event in South Carolina. When asked whether he was avoiding the trip because he was tired of traveling, the president appeared to interpret the question as a challenge to his health and stamina. "I feel perfect," Trump responded before directing a series of personal insults at the reporter. The journalist, Jacob Bogage, a Pulitzer Prize-winning correspondent for Reuters, asked: "You're not going to Kansas. That's nothing to do with you being sick of traveling?" Trump replied, "You are a sick guy. Reuters is terrible, by the way." He then escalated his criticism beyond the substance of the question, targeting the reporter's physical appeara...

Trump Administration Issues $500 ACA Refund Checks to Nearly 1 Million Americans in 30 States

WASHINGTON — Nearly 950,000 Americans in 30 states received $500 refund checks as the Trump administration returns what it describes as surplus funds collected through federal Affordable Care Act (ACA) insurance exchange user fees. The U.S. Treasury began distributing the payments today, while recipients are also expected to receive a letter from President Donald Trump explaining the refunds. According to administration officials, the refunds stem from fees collected through federally operated ACA marketplaces overseen by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Thirty states rely on the federal government to administer their health insurance exchanges, while the remaining states operate their own marketplaces. CMS assesses a user fee on insurance plans sold through the federal exchange to cover administrative and operational costs. Administration officials argue that the Biden administration collected more revenue than was necessary to operate the exchanges, creating a ...

Justice Jackson Warned This Decision On Voting Goes Too Far

The Supreme Court has cleared the way for the Trump administration to use Social Security data in a federal system designed to verify citizenship for voter eligibility, ahead of the November midterm elections. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson criticized the decision, arguing that the court had overstepped its authority and favored the administration over voters. The ruling allows the Department of Homeland Security to use its updated SAVE system to check citizenship information. A lower court had blocked its use over concerns that Social Security records could contain outdated information. The Supreme Court did not identify the justices who supported the decision.

Debunking Black Republican Talking Points

Choosing a political party is a mix of emotional and practical decisioning.  And as much as Black Americans have been taught to unite for collective change, the vote is a deeply personal choice.  Black voters are rethinking traditional affiliations, but not all of the arguments to support leaving the Democratic party make sense.    This is an examination of 3 main Black Republican talking points. The intent is not to be anti-Republican.  It is to help those who are make logical decisions. CLAIM:  Abortion is destroying the Black community. Republicans are the party protecting Black babies." This argument presents abortion primarily as a moral failure within the Black community and casts Republicans as its defenders. It raises a genuine moral question for people who believe life begins at conception. But it becomes politically inconsistent when the concern for children ends at birth or when abortion is discussed without examining the circumstances surroundin...
