SEASON 4 OF SUNDAY BEST PREMIERES TONIGHT--ATTEND OUR ONLINE VIEWING PARTY!

Season 4 of the hit singing competition "Sunday Best" -- the only televised singing contest that's just as riveting as "The Voice" -- will premiere on BET tonight, July 10 at  8P/7C.

Kirk Franklin will return as host with fellow superstar gospel acts  as judges (Mary Mary and Donnie McClurkin). Participants from all over the nation were selected from auditions in Dallas, Atlanta and Los Angeles and judging from the past the compeition is bound to be intense. 

"Musical powerhouse Kim Burrell also returns as celebrity mentor.
Fans can expect to be blown away by performances as this season's hopefuls venture from the auditions to the main stage. In the premiere episodes, thousands of contestants make their way to audition stops in Dallas, Los Angeles and Atlanta, but only 20 are selected to compete in Atlanta. Many are called but only one will be crowned winner of this season's SUNDAY BEST. In addition to the coveted title of SUNDAY BEST, the winner of season four will receive a national recording contract, a cash prize and a brand new 2011 Ford Explorer." (Via press release)

Alabama Pastor Shot and Killed in Domestic Incident

Pastor Da’Quarius Green , a 31-year-old leader of Elba Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Alabama, was shot on Dec. 23, 2025 and died several days later in the hospital after a domestic dispute at his home in Level Plains . Authorities have described the shooting as a “domestic incident” involving his wife,  𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐲. Local news station WTVY reported "c ourt records show that Green was arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence charges 3 times in Houston County last year, with each of those cases dismissed. Also in 2024, a woman filed a protection order against Green in Houston County in which she believed him to be a danger," but did not confirm Mrs. Massey as the suspect.    Various reports indicate the couple's children were present when he was shot in the head.   In one instance, a woman who shared children with Green alleged that he repeatedly struck her , including once when she was pregnant.
