SUNDAY BEST Season 4 is the #1 Cable Competition Show and Sunday’s #1 Cable Series Among Blacks in 2011

The 4th season of SUNDAY BEST came to a sensational conclusion as millions watched Amber Bullock, from St. Louis, Missouri emerge as America’s choice over Andrea Helms of Dallas, Texas. According to the Nielsen Company, the Sunday, September 11, 8: 00 P.M.* telecast drew in 2.1 Million viewers, garnered a 1.63 rating making it the #1 SUNDAY BEST  telecast in franchise history. As BET’s #1 reality series of the season, additionally SUNDAY BEST season 4 is now the #1 cable competition show and Sunday’s #1 cable series among blacks in 2011. For the past four consecutive years, it has remained the #1 gospel/religious program on television.

In addition to the coveted title of SUNDAY BEST, Amber wins a national recording contract with Music World Gospel, a cash prize, a brand new 2011 Ford Explorer. The singing competition with gospel greats Kirk Franklin as host along with Erica and Tina Campbell of Mary Mary, and Pastor Donnie McClurkin as judges allowed viewers to vote for their favorite contestant and ultimately decide who would be named this season's SUNDAY BEST.

The two-hour spectacular season finale featured stellar performances by Pastor Shirley Caesar, Yolanda Adams, Lecrae, Vashawn Mitchell, Zebulon Ellis, Jessica Reedy, Rance Allen, and Ricky Dillard.  Past SUNDAY BEST winners Crystal Aikin, Y'Anna Crawley and Le’Andria Johnson also came together for a special performance tribute to the late gospel great, Mahalia Jackson to commemorate her 100th birthday. 

For four amazing seasons, SUNDAY BEST has entertained and touched viewers during its search for the next great gospel singer. From holding auditions all over the U.S. and in Nigeria, West Africa, SUNDAY BEST continues to be a fan favorite even winning a 2011 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Reality Series.
