EMI Gospel Recording Artist VaShawn Mitchell’s “Turning Around For Me” Enters Billboard at #5

( Nashville , TN – August 16, 2012) – Six-time Stellar Award winner and GRAMMY® nominated recording artist VaShawn Mitchell will release his new project, Created 4 This, August 28, 2012. The new album was recorded live in his hometown of Harvey , IL . Created 4 This will also be released as a Deluxe Edition CD + DVD, which features 13 songs, three live performance videos, and exclusive behind-the-scene footage. Fans can also purchase the Limited Deluxe Edition package, which is sold exclusively at Wal-Mart and contains the
CD + DVD plus a T-shirt. Fans can now pre-order the new album at Wal-Mart, iTunes and Amazon.
The first single, “Turning Around For Me,” enters at #5 this week on Billboard’s Top Singles chart. At Wal-Mart, the exclusive single contains a unique QR Code. By scanning the code using an Android or Iphone compatible device, fans are granted access to exclusive video streams and more.
Mitchell’s promo tour kicks off in New York at Donnie McClurkin’s New York Call (Saturday, August 25). There will also be a series of album release events including the Official Release Day Celebration at the Baptist Worship Center in Philadelphia (Tuesday, August 28), Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston (Thursday, August 30), Union Temple Baptist Church in Washington, DC (Friday, August 31), and the Back II School Album Release Skate Party in Charlotte (Monday, September 3). The promo tour will be coupled with radio and press interviews, as well as Sunday church appearances and retail visits (see dates and cities below). Mitchell will also co-host Verizon’s How Sweet The Sound event in Detroit (Saturday, September 15) and Los Angeles (Friday, September 21).
Mitchell is also on the cover of the current issue of ROOT magazine which includes the featured story, “The Evolution of VaShawn Mitchell.”
