FULL 2015 Golden Globes List: Ava Duvernay makes history

buzzz worthy. . .

Ava DuVernay makes history as the first Black woman to be nominated for a Golden Globe Award in the position of Director.

Ava DuVernay. . .say that name with me:"A-VA- DU- VERNAY."  It's a name you will be hearing a lot in the coming months.  Not only should you know her name because she directed and co-wrote "Selma", one of the most anticipated films of 2014, but also because she is the first Black female director to be nominated for a Golden Globe for her work on it.   "Selma" itself been nominated for several GG's including the coveted Best Motion Picture ahead of its Christmas Day release.  Be sure to check it out. The Golden Globes have traditionally been viewed as a foreshadow to the Oscars, so Selma is off to a good start this award show season.

Other stand out female nominees include Quvenzhane Wallis for Annie, Jennifer Anniston for Cake and Reese Witherspoon in Wild. Angelina lie's movie "Unbroken" was completely snubbed.
