NEW MUSIC: Monifah takes "One Moment" to blow us away

MONIFAH “Mo” Carter deleivers a pleasant surprise with her latest single "One Moment." With a steady, convincing tone, Monifah, who we typically have seen as an around the way girl, releases a sensitive feline side that is understanding and encouraging. The lyrics of "One Moment"she reveal the hidden concerns and stresses of many women's hearts who are simply drained from being there for everyone but themselves. Via her label: Long before TV One’s docudrama, “R&B DIVAS”, reignited her career, there was already more to her than meets the eye. Born and raised in East Harlem – NY, the big-voiced girl with the West African name has been in the spotlight since she was seven years old. With that talent behind her, MONIFAH burst onto the R&B music scene underneath the wings of the late “Heavy D”. In 1996 she was signed to Uptown/MCA records who released her debut album that contained the double-platinum single “I Miss You” plus other hit tracks that were certified gold. Back on the music scene, following her T.V. success, she is shortly releasing “One Moment” and “Blueprint” worldwide via Famous Records.

Alabama Pastor Shot and Killed in Domestic Incident

Pastor Da’Quarius Green , a 31-year-old leader of Elba Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Alabama, was shot on Dec. 23, 2025 and died several days later in the hospital after a domestic dispute at his home in Level Plains . Authorities have described the shooting as a “domestic incident” involving his wife,  𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐲. Local news station WTVY reported "c ourt records show that Green was arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence charges 3 times in Houston County last year, with each of those cases dismissed. Also in 2024, a woman filed a protection order against Green in Houston County in which she believed him to be a danger," but did not confirm Mrs. Massey as the suspect.    Various reports indicate the couple's children were present when he was shot in the head.   In one instance, a woman who shared children with Green alleged that he repeatedly struck her , including once when she was pregnant.
