Delta University professor killed on campus

History Prof. Ethan Schmidt was shot and killed at Delta State University in Cleveland, MS while sitting at his desk this morning. The person of interest, Shannon Lamb (45), a fellow professor at the university, is at large. The Cleveland Police spokesperson said Lamb may be connected to the homicide of a woman in Gautier, MS located four hours away. Police also said in a press conference no further details will be released at this time. The university and neighboring schools are on lock down.

Shannon Lamb, a college instructor suspected in the homicide of Ethan Schmidt and Amy Prentis his live in girlfriend died Monday of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound amid apprehension, authorities said. Lamb left an apology note.
