Meet Trump's surprising Evangelical advisory board

buzzz worthy. . .

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland are members of President Donald Trump's Evangelical Council.
Donald Trump has selected an Evangelical Advisory Board made up of  some of the most prominent faith leaders in America to ease concerns about his religious beleifs, hoping to wrangle the faith base electorate. The team was announced after Trump met with some 900 Evangelical leaders last Tuesday.  Focus on the Family Founder James Dobson, Liberty University's Jerry Falwell, Richard Land, President of the Southern Evangelical Seminary and hosts of Believers Voice of Victory Kenneth and Gloria Copeland are listed.  The members of the board have not necessarily endorsed the presumptive GOP candidate for President, but have come together to express Evangelical interests and answer Trump's "desire to have access to the wise counsel of such leaders as needed."

Of the 25 names announced, former Minnesota Congress woman Michele Bachman is the only non-religious figure named to the board.

“I have such tremendous respect and admiration for this group and I look forward to continuing to talk about the issues important to Evangelicals, and all Americans, and the common sense solutions I will implement when I am President," Trump said in a statement.  The statement said Trump is showing what he endorses by reaching out to these leaders.

The name of Ohio Pastor Darrell Hines is surprisingly not on the list.   Hines has trumpeted the billionaire businessman at campaign events and on national news programs acting as a surrogate and was one of the organizers that brought together Black pastors to meet with Trump. Many of the pastors who were invited publicly denounced Trump and criticized Hines for his involvement with him.  Land and Dobson both have publicly criticized Trump.

Considering the inflammatory comments and insults presidential candidate has made about minorities, women and the physically challenged it is especially shocking to see names like mega church pastors Paula White and A.R. Bernard who head predominantly Black congregations.

The full list of racially and sexually diverse board members follows:

· Michele Bachmann - Former Congresswoman
