Beach Boys, Chance the Rapper, Prince, Corinne Bailey Rae and more make Pres. Obama's final Summer play list

buzzz worthy. . .

What music has President Obama been grooving to lately?

Songs by rappers, Pop and R&B stars and a slate of legends from various music genres made President Obama's 2016 Summertime Play List.  On August 11, while vacationing at Martha's Vineyard, Obama cooly released two lists of music he listens to both day and night via Spotify. "Been waiting to drop this," he tweeted.

With singles by The Beach Boys, Chance the Rapper, Prince, Manu Chao and Corinne Bailey Rae in the mix, his taste in music couldn't be more eclectic and the masses are loving it.  POTUS' track listing has a high approval rating among social media followers who have used the flame emoji  and 100 to signify their acceptance of it.

Obama (AKA "DJ Barry O") has the traits of a good DJ.  Any  DJ worth his name knows when to toss in the oldie but goodies.  Both of Obama's list boast well placed classics intertwined with the latest jams.  The throwback to D'Angelo's "Lady" and Janet Jackson's "I Get So Lonely" is a welcome reminder of some of the best jams of the 1990s.

A word of caution for young listeners -- the list isn't exactly appropriate for all ages.  The version of Jidenna's "Classic Man" does not censor the n-word or expletives.

Beyonce, one of his all time favorites did not make the list this time, while her hubby Jay Z did.  Queen Bey was a guest at Obama's 55th birthday bash last week at the White House. Since the rest of us missed the party memo  think of this as an invitation to jam out with the President on the the commute to or from work, while at the gym or on your evening jog or in any way you please.
