Both Stewart and Snoop Dog are credited as the creators and executive producers of the show with their respective companies Sequential Brands and MerryJane.com, as well as Nina L. Diaz, Trevor Rose, Paul Ricci, Fernando Mills and Paula Aranda from VH1.
The pair has a history of memorable TV shows and cameos, with Mrs. Stewart running two popular lifestyle shows: Martha Stewart Living (1993- 1995) and Martha (2005-2012) – where the rapper made a visit on one occasion.
Snoop Dog has had various minor roles on different movies such as “Scary Movie 5” (2013) and “Pitch Perfect” (2015) and his web show “Double G News” is currently featured on Youtube.
Both celebrities starred on last year’s Justin Bieber VH1 roast where they delivered some hilarious jokes at the pop singer. Also, they recently made an appearance on ABC’s $100,000 Pyramid. Mrs. Stewart hopes to exemplify America’s fascination with food, entertaining, and celebrity.
“MY HOME GIRL, MARTHA AND I HAVE A SPECIAL BOND THAT GOES BACK. WE’RE GONNA BE COOKING, DRINKING, AND HAVING A GOOD TIME WITH OUR EXCLUSIVE FRIENDS. CAN’T WAIT FOR YOU TO SEE HOW WE ROLL TOGHETER!” said Snoop Dog in a statement.
VH1 is thrilled about partnering with two of pop culture’s biggest icons, according to VH1 and Logo president, Chris McCarthy.
A press release in the network’s news page features a video teaser with Snoop and Mrs. Stewart promoting the show and telling how the two teamed up for the new project. “Martha and Snoop´s Dinner Party” is currently being recorded and will premiere this fall.
