RCA INSPIRATION DOMINATES BILLBOARD’S YEAR-END GOSPEL CHARTS

Nashville, TN (December 9, 2016) – Billboard just released its 2016 “Year-End” charts andRCA Inspiration’s world-class artists, Kirk FranklinTravis Greene, Fred Hammond, Donnie McClurkin, William Murphy and Marvin Sapp have claimed top positions throughout severalGospel and R&B/Hip-Hop charts.  Donnie McClurkin’s 2016 album The Journey (LIVE) and the single “I Need You,” are positioned in the Top 25 on the Gospel Albums, Hot Gospel and Gospel Airplay Songs charts.  Kirk Franklin boasts seven chart-topping positions and over ten other Top 25 positions on various Gospel and R&B/Hip-Hop charts with his latest album Losing My Religion and singles including “123 Victory” and “Wanna Be Happy?”  Marvin Sapp’s most recent album, You Shall Live, and his songs, “The Best in Me,” “Live,” “Never Would Have Made It,” and “Yes You Can” appear in the Top 25 on six charts.  And last, but certainly not least, rising young star Travis Greene earned fourteen year-end chart positions, including the #1 spot on the Gospel Airplay Artists chart, with his debut album The Hill and hit singles, “Intentional” and “Made A Way”.

NEWLYWEDS: Bishop Marvin Winans weds after 30 years

Winans, Sr. has wed his long time girlfriend Deneen R. Carter. Carter is a 57-year-old physical therapist and minister at Perfecting Church in Detroit, founded by Winans. Little is known about the bride publicly. The gospel legend introduced the now Mrs. Winans as his fiance to the congregants of Perfecting in October of 2021. The couple had been in a relationship for 15 years. Pastor Winans was previously married to fellow gospel singer Vicki Winans (with whom he has two sons) for 16 years before they divorced in 1995.
