Today Only: POPEYES® Shares The Love On National Buttermilk Biscuit Day With Limited Edition Heart Shaped Biscuits

Fans around the world really love those buttery biscuits from Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen. The southern fried chicken restaurant sold more than 292 million of their cult-favorite biscuits last year. In honor of National Buttermilk Biscuit Day, POPEYES® is showing its appreciation for all the love by turning their cherished buttermilk biscuits into hearts. For one day only, POPEYES® will be offering limited edition, heart-shaped "Love That" Biscuits to celebrate the buttery, flaky goodness that fans have come to crave. 

"For more than 40 years, our biscuits have been celebrated as a very beloved menu item," says Amy Alarcon, Head Chef of Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen. "With our buttermilk biscuits at the heart of our menu, it only made sense to celebrate with heart shaped biscuits on National Buttermilk Biscuit Day." 




POPEYES® "Love That" Biscuits will be available today, May 14th, and come with all regular meals, combos and platters while supplies last at participating POPEYES® locations in Chicago, Los Angeles, New Orleans and New York.

Alabama Pastor Shot and Killed in Domestic Incident

Pastor Da’Quarius Green , a 31-year-old leader of Elba Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Alabama, was shot on Dec. 23, 2025 and died several days later in the hospital after a domestic dispute at his home in Level Plains . Authorities have described the shooting as a “domestic incident” involving his wife,  𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐲. Local news station WTVY reported "c ourt records show that Green was arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence charges 3 times in Houston County last year, with each of those cases dismissed. Also in 2024, a woman filed a protection order against Green in Houston County in which she believed him to be a danger," but did not confirm Mrs. Massey as the suspect.    Various reports indicate the couple's children were present when he was shot in the head.   In one instance, a woman who shared children with Green alleged that he repeatedly struck her , including once when she was pregnant.
