Garret Morris, Deelishis, Torry, Foolish, And Renaldo Rey, Comedy  "PAWN SHOP" Kicked Off Virtual Box-Office Monday, April 20th

(Los Angeles) --Offering the first virtual box-office portal for multicultural content creators, comedian, producer Joe Torry, and publicist turned producer Darren Dickerson, launched direct-to-consumer content releases for creators of color on Monday.

In partnership with BLK PRIME, a  subscription video-on-demand platform that offers multi-cultural content to diverse audiences worldwide, Torry and Dickerson are now providing content creators with a virtual box-office platform.  The company developed a special screening room on BLK PRIME for pay-per-view distribution that is   accessible on Apple TVRoku TV, Android and Apple devices, and over the web.
With theaters closed due to the nationwide quarantine, this new partnership will allow content creators to market their films and earn box-office style revenues.


Starring Garret Morris ("Two Broke Girls"), Joe Torry ("The Workout Room"), comedian Foolish along with influencer Deelishis, and Reynaldo Rey in his final film, "Pawn Shop" is the first movie to open via the virtual box office (4/20).

"Pawn Shop is the perfect movie to kick-off our distribution deal," says Torry following a successful digital screening campaign. "I love the movie, and now we have the analytics that proves fans do too."

In a two week period, over 145,000 people viewed "Pawn Shop" during a Black History Month free screening campaign with MReckTV (YouTube).   
The comments from fans who screened the movie were overwhelmingly positive to the point of appreciative.

"The numbers tell the story, people really loves this movie," says Dickerson.  "The public will finally be able to watch this film via a streaming portal and the creators will finally make some money on the project.

PAWN SHOP - Opened April 20th
Detroit pawn shop owner Ray (Morris) and his son Mike (Foolish) incur the wrath of the city's most feared gangster Pierre (Torry) in this family friendly comedy.  Trouble starts to brew when someone swipes Pierre's jewelry right out from under his nose, and police accuse Mike of dealing in stolen property.

Rounding out a trio of initial releases by COD is the Harry Lennix ("The Blacklist"), 
Tatum O'Neal ("Paper Moon"), Gina Torres ("Person") feature "Troubled Waters" about a popular stand-up comedian making his return to the stage after a self-imposed hiatus.  

What each of these films have in common is "a need for distribution" to a wide audience.  Torry and Dickerson formed a company, COD, and then secured a partnership with BLK PRIME to provide content creators with a platform to reach consumers while earning box-office style revenues via pay-per-view streaming.

Troubled Waters stars Harry Lennix (The Blacklist), Oscar winner Tatum O'Neal, Gina Torres (Person), and NBA legend Rick Fox in an original feature film making its world premiere.
