JEKALYNN CARR ATTAINS 4th BILLBOARD #1 HIT AT 23 YEARS OLD

 September 7, 2020 (Atlanta, GA) — Prolific singer-songwriter Jekalyn Carr lands at the top spot on Billboard's Gospel Airplay Chart this week with her current song "Changing Your Story."  

 This historic accomplishment marks Carr's 4th #1 song by the young age of 23, and "Changing Your Story" is her sixh Top 10 radio single. 

The high-powered and deeply personal song, "Changing Your Story," is signature Jekalyn Carr. The music is vibrant and spirited while Carr's well-known vocal depth brings it to life. 

"This song is a personal testimony," said Carr. "It hit home for me, knowing how God has turned my story around. But I wanted this to be something — a push or a reminder that God has changed your story, and He will do it again."

The 4x Grammy nominee, multiple Stellar Award and Dove Award winner, is prepping for her fifth full-length album, CHANGING YOUR STORY, which is due October 23. Recorded live last October, at the famous festival "Praise In The Park" in Atlanta, CHANGING YOUR STORY captures all the energy, excitement, and power, making this one of the most anticipated gospel albums of 2020.

Alabama Pastor Shot and Killed in Domestic Incident

Pastor Da’Quarius Green , a 31-year-old leader of Elba Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Alabama, was shot on Dec. 23, 2025 and died several days later in the hospital after a domestic dispute at his home in Level Plains . Authorities have described the shooting as a “domestic incident” involving his wife,  𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐲. Local news station WTVY reported "c ourt records show that Green was arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence charges 3 times in Houston County last year, with each of those cases dismissed. Also in 2024, a woman filed a protection order against Green in Houston County in which she believed him to be a danger," but did not confirm Mrs. Massey as the suspect.    Various reports indicate the couple's children were present when he was shot in the head.   In one instance, a woman who shared children with Green alleged that he repeatedly struck her , including once when she was pregnant.
