Peacock, an arm of NBC has ordered two seasons of Bel-Air, a dramatic reboot of the classic sitcom “ Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” from a documentary promo. Will Smith made the announcement Tuesday on YouTube noting the deal is unprecendented.
It has been in the works for a while. NBC's Peacock will deliver Bel Air, a dramatic reboot of the 90s Fresh Prince of Bel Air series starring Will Smith. Smith made the exciting announcement today saying, “We have just officially closed the deal with Peacock with an unprecedented two-season-order from a pitch.” This is rare feat in Hollywood. He added, “I’ve been in this business for thirty years and that does not happen. They ordered two full seasons of Bel-Air based on the quality of the pitch and the work that you guys have done. So I want to say congratulations. I am hyped.”
Like the oiginal, it's going to be the story all about how his life got flipped, turned upside down in Philly. But based on the 2019 trailer that sealed the deal, they pour on the drama and it is going to be quite different. Reimagined in modern times, Bel-Air will be lenghthened to an hour to further explore
