Now that the U.S. is out of Afghanistan, Pres. Joe Biden is juggling another crisis, this one out of human control -- the weather and climate change. Biden has approved disaster relief for multiple states this week promising to send the supplies and resources neceessary for recovery efforts in Louisiana, Missouri, New York and New Jersey. More forceful and rapidly reccuring weather disasters have hit the nation from coast-to-coast, which Democratic lawmakers say is proof their infrastructure plan is necessary.

The president visits New Orleans today where there is major damage from Hurricane Ida. The storm swept up to the Notheast where 43 people have died mainly between New York and New Jesey from floods.

On the economy. . .Employment slowed in the month of August with 235,000 jobs being added, a smaller gain than expected after two months of growth during a swell in the Coronavirus.

The unemployment rate dropped to 5.2% , down from 5.4% in July.

On Tuesday 3 Aurora, CO police officers and 2 paramedics were indicted on 32 counts in the August 2019 death of Elijah McClain. The case was used to augmentt the rally cry for police reform after the death of George Floyd gained national attention. The unarmed Black man was appraoched for appearing suspicious while walking to hs nearby home died in the hospital days after being detained.
