DEADLINE HEADS UP ON STUDENT LOANS

TODAY, APRL 30 is the deadline to consolidate 4 different types of loans

TSN, WASHINGTON: In order to qaulufy for ull Loan debt cancellation on  certain loans borrowers  must consolidate them today, April 30.  Consolodation means to combine loans into one payment. There may be an adjustment on the total amount owned once loans are combined.  The  Department of Education is expected to conduct a one-time adjustment in the summer but  borrowers will not qaulify unless they  submit a request to consolidate their loans by Tuesday.

The loan types are:

-- Commercially held Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL)

— Parent PLUS loans

— Perkins loans

— Health Education Assistance Loan (HEAL) Program loans

Student loan borrowers can apply for consolidation through the U.S. Department of Education website,  studentaid.gov/loan-consolidation.
