COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGIST AND INDUSTRY LEADER TONY FERGUSON BEGINS TENURE AS PRESIDENT OF PUBLIC RELATIONS SOCIETY OF AMERICA LOS ANGELES CHAPTER




Tony Ferguson, a dynamic force in the public relations industry with nearly three decades of experience, has officially begun his term as President of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Los Angeles Chapter, effective January 1, 2026. Ferguson brings a bold and inclusive vision for the chapter’s future, grounded in a deep commitment to professional empowerment, cross-sector collaboration, and innovation in communications.

Ferguson launched his professional journey at Columbia Records in New York City, quickly rising through the ranks to become Vice President of Media. Over the years, he has led strategic communications for major players in entertainment, sports, and the nonprofit world. As Principal of Society House, a Los Angeles-based public relations firm, he has spearheaded campaigns for iconic brands and cultural pioneers.



Most recently, Ferguson helped shape the rollout of De La Soul’s long-awaited studio album, Cabin in the Sky, their first release in nine years. Launched on November 21 to critical acclaim, the campaign reaffirmed Ferguson’s standing as a trusted steward for legacy artists navigating a rapidly evolving media landscape.


“From my early days in New York to today’s challenges and opportunities in Los Angeles, the common thread has been storytelling with purpose,” said Ferguson. “Taking on this leadership role at PRSA LA is not just about vision—it’s about action. I look forward to building a stronger, more engaged chapter where professionals from all sectors can find inspiration, mentorship, and a true sense of community.”



Ferguson’s experience spans a diverse roster of clients including the Los Angeles Clippers, Roc Nation, Camus Cognac, George Clinton, and numerous high-impact nonprofits. His work has earned media placements in The New York Times, CNN, Forbes, BET, Rolling Stone, and GQ.


His leadership direction at PRSA LA focuses on:


·       Increasing membership through intentional outreach and value-driven programming

·       Elevating campaigns that reflect the dynamic cultural landscape of Los Angeles

·       Serving young professionals with targeted development opportunities

·       Strengthening collaboration between entertainment and sports publicists across the region


Beyond his professional achievements, Ferguson serves as a Special Olympics certified coach, is a board member of Just Us 4 Youth in Pomona, and an active member of the Recording Academy. He continues to mentor rising PR talent and promote authentic, community-rooted storytelling.
